Advocacy Session Activating the role of youth in accessing desicion-making centers
As part of the project "Empowering Youth from Diverse Components to Promote Dialogue, Cooperation, and Social Cohesion Using a Human Rights-Based Approach in Sumel District," a special consultative session was held today to activate communication mechanisms between youth and governmental decision-making centers, as well as youth participation in decision-making, organized by the Center for Peace and Conflict Resolution Studies / University of Duhok, supported by the Lutheran World Federation (LWF) organization.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Governor of Duhok, Mr. Shamoun Shlemon, the Director of Community Policing in Sumel, Colonel Jadaan Mirani, representatives from the Human Rights Office in Duhok, and relevant departments in Sumel District. Participants discussed the reality of communication mechanisms between the community and relevant governmental institutions، and the mechanisms to activate this communication in order to build trust and ensure youth participation in decision-making.
