The University of Duhok began its journey with two colleges—Medicine and Agriculture—serving just over 200 students. Overcoming early challenges, including economic hardships and regional constraints, UOD has grown into a leading institution with 19 colleges, 67 academic departments, and an enrollment of over 23,000 undergraduate students, supported by more than 1,800 academic staff and 2,500 administrative personnel.
