IPP Welcomes DASNIA Institute Students

As part of its ongoing scientific and community-oriented activities aimed at raising mental health awareness across different social groups, theInstitute of Psychotherapy and Psychotraumtology (IPP) at the University of Duhok welcomed a group of students from the DASNIA Institute.

During the visit, the institute’s staff provided comprehensive and accessible explanations about mental health concepts and their importance for both individuals and society. Emphasis was placed on the idea that mental health is an essential and inseparable component of overall human well-being, and that young people and adolescents, in particular, should be more aware of this vital issue.

In another segment of the visit, students were introduced to the humanitarian and scientific projects and services offered by the IPP, including:

  1. Suicide Prevention Hotline:
    An overview was provided on how this hotline operates professionally and confidentially to protect the lives of individuals experiencing severe psychological distress and suicidal thoughts.

  2. Addiction Clinic:
    The role of this clinic in supporting individuals affected by substance abuse was highlighted, explaining how scientific treatment methods are used to help them reintegrate into normal life.

  3. IPP German Clinic:
    This clinic was presented as an advanced center for psychological treatment, operating in coordination with German partners and applying the latest scientific methods to treat mental disorders and trauma.

Such visits contribute to building strong connections between universities and educational institutions and play a significant role in reducing stigma associated with psychological disorders.

At the conclusion of the visit, DASNIA Institute students expressed their gratitude to the University of Duhok and the IPP for providing this valuable scientific and humanitarian opportunity.
