Enhancing Student Well-Being: UOD Upgrades Female Residence at CAES with New Cultural Spaces
UOD, August 2025 | University Press Office (UNPO) | In a step that reflects the University of Duhok’s (UOD) strategic commitment to student well-being, gender inclusion, and campus modernization, the Kurdistan Salih Female Accommodation Building (No. 4) at the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences (CAES) is undergoing a comprehensive renovation.
This project is being realized through the financial support of the U.S Friends of Amar Organization, with implementation by Right Vision Organization, in collaboration with UOD’s engineering supervision. More than $70,000 has been allocated for the initiative, with contributions from the supporting organization and the University itself.
The four-story residence building is being fully modernized to meet the needs of female students. Renovations include upgraded bathrooms, kitchens, and dormitory rooms, alongside the creation of two new cultural halls on the first and second floors. These halls will provide dedicated spaces for female students to socialize, exchange ideas, and build supportive peer networks, fostering a stronger sense of community within campus life.
The initiative began in August and is scheduled for completion by October 2025.
The project highlights UOD’s focus on:
- Improving student living conditions as part of the university’s long-term campus development plan.
- Supporting female students by ensuring safe, modern, and community-oriented housing.
- Strengthening partnerships with local and international organizations for sustainable development.
The University of Duhok continues to prioritize student welfare, inclusivity, and academic success, ensuring that campus facilities match the highest standards of quality and safety.
