UOD, June 30, 2025, University Press Office (UNPO)– In line with the University of Duhok’s Strategic Plan to promote staff well-being, teamwork, and a vibrant campus life, and organized by the University Sports Directorate, UOD kicked off its annual Futsal Championship for Faculty Employees on June 29. The tournament features 10 energetic teams representing colleges and administrative directorates, reflecting the university’s commitment to fostering a healthy, engaged, and collaborative work environment.

The opening ceremony and first match were held at the Hall of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, underscoring UOD’s priority to support extracurricular activities that build community spirit and reinforce employees’ sense of belonging to the institution.

The event was attended by:

• Employees and officials from the University Sports Directorate
  
  
• A number of university enthusiastic employees
  
  

The first match of the championship saw a spirited contest between the College of Science team and the Directorate of Accommodation, concluding with a 5–3 victory for the College of Science. The match was professionally supervised by referee Chia Sabri, ensuring a fair and competitive atmosphere.

Organized by the University Sports Directorate, the championship advances key objectives of the university’s strategic plan by enhancing employees’ physical health, strengthening inter-college relationships, and promoting a positive university environment that supports academic and administrative excellence.
