Russia, August 2025, University Press Office (UNPO) | In a significant step toward strengthening international cooperation and advancing academic excellence, the University of Duhok (UOD) participated in a high-level training program hosted by Tambov State Technical University (TSTU), Russia, in collaboration with Akkad Organization For Cultural Exchange Between Iraq and Russia

Representing UOD, Ms. Awaz Mohammed Omar, Coordinator at the Bologna Process and Curriculum Development Department, took part in the training course titled “Public Administration Skills: Efficiency, Transparency, and Innovation”, held from 3–5 August 2025.

The program brought together 32 participants from across Iraq, including university faculty members, administrators, medical professionals, and engineers. Discussions focused on key areas that align closely with UOD’s strategic vision and Iraq’s broader academic development, including:

• Modern approaches in public administration
  
  
• Crisis management strategies
  
  
• Strategic planning and leadership
  
  
• Investment opportunities in higher education
  
  
• Principles of sustainable development
  
  

Beyond capacity building, the program opened new avenues of collaboration between UOD and Tambov State Technical University. Both institutions expressed willingness to explore long-term cooperation in areas such as:

• Establishing international academic relations
  
  
• Joint training programs for faculty and administrative staff
  
  

This initiative reflects the University of Duhok’s commitment to internationalization, curriculum development, and capacity building in alignment with its Strategic Plan, which prioritizes expanding partnerships with leading global universities.

The collaboration not only enhances the skills and knowledge of UOD’s staff but also contributes to Iraq’s academic and institutional development, reinforcing the University’s role as a bridge between the Kurdistan Region, Iraq, and the international academic community.
