UOD, June 25, 2025, University Press Office (UNPO) | As part of its annual academic tradition, the University of Duhok (UOD) held a high-level institutional meeting today, bringing together the University President, Vice Presidents, KAAE representative, and the councils of all UOD colleges. The session was convened at the UOD Convention Center to foster open dialogue on the University's strategic vision, institutional accreditation, and future service to students and the academic community.

During the event, Dr. Dawood Sulaiman Atrushi, and Dr. Honar Issa, gave speeches where they talked about obtaining KAAE accreditation. Dr. Dawood then led the discussions and emphasized the University's commitment to continuous quality assurance, enhanced governance, and alignment with international academic standards.

Key topics discussed included:

• Advancing the institutional and program accreditation process across colleges.
  
  
• Strengthening the implementation of the University Strategic Plan (2023–2030).
  
  
• Identifying mechanisms to improve services to students, enhance teaching environments and Bologna Process progress, and empower college councils.
  
  
• Listening carefully to the needs and feedback presented by college representatives, with a focus on mutual solutions that benefit both the University and the broader public interest.
  
  

The meeting provided a vital platform for representatives of the colleges to share their insights directly with the University leadership. The presidency attentively listened to each concern, offering responses and discussing possible actions to be taken for the greater good of the University community.

Such consultative meetings underscore UOD’s commitment to participatory leadership, transparent decision-making, and its mission to become a regionally leading academic institution that serves both society and scholarship.
