UOD, August 24, 2026, University Press Office (UNPO) | The American Corner at the University of Duhok organized and hosted a three-day training program titled “Developing Leadership and Management Skills” from 17–19 August 2026, bringing together staff members from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Parliament Office and the Iraqi Parliament Office.

The training was delivered by Dr. Green Amedi, Manager of the University Leadership Unit, and Dr. Zirak Yousif Hasan, Director of the American Corner at the University of Duhok.

The program focused on strengthening participants’ practical capabilities in leadership, communication, decision-making, teamwork, professional discipline, and effective workplace management. A total of 26 participants attended, including six from the KRG Parliament Office and 20 from the Iraqi Parliament Office.

Through interactive discussions, practical activities, and professional development exercises, participants explored approaches to effective leadership and management and considered how these skills can be applied within parliamentary and administrative workplaces.

The training contributes to the University of Duhok’s Strategic Plan by supporting capacity building, professional development, community engagement, and stronger connections between the University and public-sector institutions. It also reflects the American Corner’s role in providing learning opportunities that extend beyond the University and contribute to the development of skilled professionals and effective institutions.
