Student-Led Scientific Symposium Held at the College of Nursing with International Participation from University of Oxford
UOD, February 15, 2026, University Press Office (UNPO) | In line with the University of Duhok’s commitment to strengthening academic quality and fostering student research skills, the College of Nursing organized a scientific symposium attended by the Dean, Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Salih, faculty members, and students. The event was held under the direct supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Hawar Abdulrazzaq Mohammed Sadiq.
The symposium emphasized student-centered learning, with nursing students delivering a series of scientific seminars on contemporary healthcare topics. Their presentations reflected the college’s efforts to enhance analytical thinking, professional communication, and evidence-based practice—core priorities in the university’s educational development strategy.
A distinguished international contribution enriched the event through a lecture delivered by Prof. Dr. Hafiz Khan from the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing, University of Oxford. His presentation addressed modern nursing practices and the importance of patient-centered care, offering students exposure to global healthcare standards and reinforcing the university’s internationalization goals.
The symposium created a collaborative academic environment that connected students, faculty members, and international scholars, while promoting innovation in nursing education and supporting the preparation of graduates capable of meeting evolving healthcare needs.
