As part of its commitment to academic innovation and teaching excellence, the College of Medicine at the University of Duhok organized a specialized workshop entitled “Medical Teaching Based on Problems and Medical Teaching Based on Cases.” The workshop was held at the University Conference Center with the participation of faculty members from the College of Medicine.

The event was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Dildar Haji Musa, Dean of the College of Medicine, and organized by the college’s Department of Education Development to introduce modern, student-centered instructional strategies that strengthen clinical reasoning and practical learning.

During the workshop, participants explored contemporary teaching techniques through both theoretical and practical sessions. The program highlighted how Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and Case-Based Learning (CBL) approaches can enhance students’ analytical thinking, diagnostic skills, and engagement with real clinical scenarios.

This initiative supports the University of Duhok Strategic Plan (2023–2038), particularly its focus on academic quality enhancement, modern teaching practices, and capacity development in medical education, reinforcing the university’s role in preparing highly qualified healthcare professionals.
