College of Law Captures Graduation Pride in Inspiring Photo Session
UOD, July 31, 2025, University Press Office (UNPO) | In a moment marked by reflection, pride, and the promise of public service, the College of Law at the University of Duhok had its graduation photo session for the class of 2024-2025. The gathering served as a visual tribute to years of legal education and personal growth—aptured in smiles, and shared memories across the Malta campus.
A Legacy of Legal Education
Established in the 1997–1998 academic year as a department within the College of Administration and Economics, the College of Law became an independent academic entity in 1999 and has since become one of the region’s most recognized institutions for legal and political studies. Located in the University of Duhok’s Malta campus, the College offers Bachelor’s degrees in Law and Political Science, and has also launched Master’s and Ph.D. programs in fields such as Private Law, Public Law, Human Rights, and Conflict Resolution.
With a current enrollment of 437 students across two departments and a diverse academic staff of 51 lecturers, the college stands as a beacon for justice-oriented education in the Kurdistan Region. To date, over 1360 students have graduated, going on to serve in courts, government institutions, legal clinics, and civil society organizations.
Tomorrow’s Legal Leaders
The 2025 photo session featured students ready to contribute to fields such as judiciary service, legal advocacy, public administration, human rights, and diplomacy. Many of them have participated in the college’s Legal Clinic, which offers real-world training in legal representation, case analysis, and court procedure. This experience, along with involvement in the Legal and Political Research Center and Center of Democracy and Human Rights, has prepared graduates for both public-sector roles and NGO-based careers.
Capturing More Than a Degree
The photo session brought together graduating students, and faculty, in a joyful atmosphere filled with pride and anticipation. The session symbolized not only educational achievement, but also a readiness to uphold the law, protect human rights, and serve society.
