In the Presence of the Prime Minister of KRG, University of Duhok Celebrates the Graduation of its 31st Class
University of Duhok, October 5, 2026 | University Press Office (UNPO) — This evening, in an atmosphere filled with pride and joy at the Duhok Sports Stadium, the University of Duhok (UoD) celebrated the graduation of its 31st class, honoring more than 3,000 students.
The grand ceremony was held under the patronage and presence of His Excellency Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, and Dr. Dawood Sulaiman Atrushi, President of UoD, alongside a large number of government and political officials, academics, faculty members, and the graduates' families.
In his opening speech, Prof. Dr. Dawood Sulaiman Atrushi warmly congratulated the graduates and their families. He emphasized the vital role of the university as an academic pioneer in building a bright future for Kurdistan. He also highlighted the university's ongoing reform process, the expansion of Artificial Intelligence (AI) usage in academia, and UoD's profound commitment to community service.
The Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, His Excellency Mr. Masrour Barzani, extended his warmest congratulations to the graduating students. He then expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the President of the University of Duhok, along with the faculty and staff, for their tireless efforts in ensuring the success of the educational process and preparing a new generation of specialists and experts to serve Kurdistan.
Throughout his speech, the Prime Minister emphasized to the graduates that the development and building of the nation rest upon their shoulders. He urged them to utilize the science and knowledge they acquired at the university to serve themselves, their families, their country, and their community.
The University of Duhok, which comprises 19 colleges and one institute, presented graduates from 95 different scientific departments to the community in this round. This achievement aligns with UoD's strategic goal of building an educated and capable generation prepared to lead the country's future.
