UoD Academic Participates in 20th PASCAL Learning Cities Conference in Hungary

Hungary, October, 2026 | University Press Office (UNPO) — Dr. Nasreen Mohammed Abdullah, Assistant Professor at the College of Basic Education at the University of Duhok (UoD), participated in the 20th PASCAL Learning Cities Conference, titled “Flourishing Learning City Ecosystems for Creative Circular Economies,” held at the University of Pécs, Hungary, on September 24–25, 2026.

Dr. Nasreen participated in the international conference with her research paper entitled “AI-Assisted Informal Learning among Youth in Duhok: Opportunities and Challenges for Skills Development.” Her participation provided an opportunity to represent the University of Duhok and the city of Duhok on an international academic platform, while engaging with researchers and experts from different countries and exchanging knowledge, ideas, and experiences.

A particular highlight of her participation was the selection of her research as one of the four outstanding presentations at the conference. This recognition provided an opportunity for Dr. Nasreen to present her research to an international audience of researchers and academics and highlighted the quality and relevance of research being conducted at the University of Duhok.

The participation reflects UoD’s commitment to academic excellence, research development, international engagement, and knowledge exchange, while providing its academics with opportunities to contribute to international scholarly discussions and showcase the University’s research at the global level.
