UOD – September 28, 2025 | The University of Duhok (UOD) proudly welcomed Ms. Pamela Hack, Deputy Consul General of the United States, to the newly established premises of the American Corner. The visit underscored the university’s ongoing efforts to foster international partnerships, cultural exchange, and academic cooperation in line with its strategic plan.

The ceremony was attended by Prof. Dr. Dawood Suleiman Atrushi, President of the University of Duhok, alongside Dr. Nazar Amin Mohammed, Director of International Relations, and Dr. Zirak Yousif Hassan, Director of the American Corner. A highlight of the event was the awarding of certificates to 30 young participants of a recent art course, reflecting UOD’s dedication to student empowerment and creative development.

The art course, held between August 31 and September 7, 2025, was facilitated by professional trainers Mehvan Khalid Hassan and Dastan Abdullah Pirmos, and culminated in an exhibition of student artwork. This initiative exemplifies the American Corner’s role as a cultural and educational hub, bridging local talent with international perspectives.

Following the cultural showcase, Ms. Hack held a bilateral meeting with the UOD President to explore academic collaboration opportunities, discuss joint educational programs, and reinforce the importance of cultural diplomacy in higher education.
