The Deanship of the Scientific Research Center at the University of Duhok (UOD) launched a specialized three-day academic workshop titled “The Art and Principles of Scientific Research Writing”, aimed at strengthening research competencies among university lecturers in the humanities and educational disciplines. This academic workshop started on January 27 and will end on 29, 2026.

Strengthening Research Quality at UOD

The opening session, held at the Hall of the Deanship of the Scientific Research Center, took place in the presence of Dr. Sherzad Sabri, Dean of the Center. In his opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Sabri emphasized that the workshop forms part of UOD’s institutional strategy to enhance research excellence, improve academic output, and align scholarly practices with international scientific standards. He highlighted that impactful research depends on sound design, methodological rigor, and ethical adherence to global academic principles.

• Day One: Foundations of Research Methodology

The first day featured a keynote session delivered by Dr. Shivan Ahmed Mohammed, titled “Research Methodology in the Humanities: From Problem Formulation to Result Analysis.” The session addressed the essential building blocks of academic research, outlining nine core pillars that underpin high-quality studies, including clear research objectives, methodological consistency, scientific integrity, and realistic timelines.

• Day Two: “Scientific Research Design in the Humanities: Methods, Tools, and Scientific Practices” presented by Dr. Green Mustafa Khalid, focusing on research frameworks, data collection tools, and best academic practices.
  
  
• Day Three: “AI and Scientific Research Writing: Opportunities and Limitations” will be presented by Dr. Jwan Abdulkhalq Mohammed, addressing the responsible use of artificial intelligence in academic writing, analysis, and publication.
