Bridging Theory with Practice: Outdoor Survival and Skills
This year’s camp is also distinguished by its emphasis on practical outdoor skills. Under the guidance of Mr. Alan Naif Nabi, students applied concepts from their theoretical coursework in outdoor environments. The practical component of the class focused on equipping students with essential survival and outdoor activity skills, including:
- Learning how to light fires safely and efficiently
- Designing and crafting basic outdoor tools such as plates and utensils
- Constructing trapezes and camp structures
- Acquiring techniques useful for sports camps and outdoor educational programs
This integration of academic knowledge with hands-on experience not only prepares students for leadership roles in sports education but also aligns with UOD’s mission to foster independent, skilled graduates ready to engage with local communities and international partners
Expanding Student Opportunities in Sports and Physical Education
This year’s 17th scout camp features a two-day residential camp involving 110 male and female students, providing:
- Practical seminars on sports sciences and physical education techniques
- Entertaining sessions designed to add joyful moments to the camping days
The University of Duhok remains dedicated to supporting programs that unlock student potential, advance leadership in sports, and promote academic excellence across all disciplines, reinforcing its leading role in higher education in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.
