The Center for Legal and Political Research at the College of Law, University of Duhok, in coordination with the Kurdistan Bar Association (Duhok Branch) and the Presidency of the Duhok Court of Appeal, organized a series of special lectures for fifth-year students. The initiative aims to prepare and qualify students for the legal profession and bridge the gap between theoretical study and practical application.

Dr. Nashwan Khalid, Director of the Center for Legal and Political Research, announced that on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, two consulting lawyers from the Bar Association were hosted. They delivered two significant lectures regarding the ethics of the legal profession and how to interact with courts and the public, aiming to instill a sense of responsibility in graduating students and familiarize them with the professional world.

Dr. Nashwan further noted that activities continued on Thursday, February 12, 2026, with the invitation of two judges from the Presidency of the Duhok Court of Appeal. One lecture covered civil court procedures, while the second focused on the procedures and conduct of criminal cases. These practical sessions provided a golden opportunity for students to benefit from the judges' expertise and experience.

Concluding the event, the Center Director emphasized the importance of such activities, stating: "Our primary goal is to prepare our students practically so that upon graduation, they can immediately enter the workforce and secure employment opportunities, particularly within the legal profession."
