University of Duhok and UNICEF Expand Strategic Partnership Through College of Science
On September 11, 2025, the College of Science (CSCN) at the University of Duhok (UOD) welcomed a delegation from UNICEF MENA and UNICEF Iraq, led by Dean, Dr. Mohammed Aziz Ibrahim, and the International Relations Director, Dr. Nazar Ameen Mohammed, to expand their partnership and highlight the success of the PAR Project for students.
PAR Project Achievements
The PAR Project has enhanced UOD students’ skills and community engagement:
- Participatory Action Research (PAR) is a collaborative research method in which researchers work together with community members through repeated cycles of questioning, action, and reflection, aiming to find practical solutions to social or environmental challenges.
Establishing the H2 Hub
UNICEF confirmed continued financial support for the H2 Hub at UOD’s College of Science:
- A special hub for conducting meetings and seminars at the college, which is established and currently can be used by the college.
Global Partnerships
The collaboration underscores UOD’s internationalization strategy:
- Partnership with global institutions like UNICEF.
- Alignment with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
- Stronger academic visibility regionally and globally.
Looking Forward
Prof. Dr. Ibrahim thanked UNICEF for its continuous support, emphasizing that the new hub will empower students and showcase UOD’s role in advancing education, innovation, and employability.
