📍 University of Duhok, May 20, University Press Office (UNPO) | The University of Duhok’s College of Languages recently marked a milestone of academic achievement, holding a photo session for the graduation of the newest class of students at the UOD’s Directorate of Media and Public Relations. As one of the University’s cornerstone institutions, the College of Languages stands at the crossroads of cultural preservation, global communication, and academic excellence.

Located in the UOD’s main campus, and founded in 2016, with the mission to strengthen linguistic and literary understanding, the college currently offers Bachelor’s degrees across multiple departments, including Kurdish Language, English Language, and Translation. It recently established departments of Persian Language and Arabic Language too. The college plays a vital role in preserving the region’s linguistic diversity while equipping students with the skills needed to thrive in an interconnected world.

🎓 A New Class, A New Future

This year’s graduating class consisted of young linguists, translators, educators, and future scholars ready to step into professional and academic roles across a range of sectors. Whether in education, media, cultural institutions, international NGOs, or governmental roles, UOD’s language graduates are uniquely positioned to serve as bridges between communities and cultures.

The college maintains ongoing partnerships with regional educational departments, publishing houses, and translation services, which provide students with valuable internship and job placement opportunities.

Each graduate carries not only a Bachelor but a story—of effort, discovery, and ambition.

🌟 A Day to Remember

The event featured an array of memorable moments and cheers from proud families of some students waving flowers. During the session, students shared group photos with their colleagues, and expressed their gladness seeing themselves as new professional linguists. The session featured a symbolic message: “Languages build peace—become the voice of understanding.”
