About the College of Veterinary Medicine

Founded in 1996, the College of Veterinary Medicine is the first and only veterinary college in the Duhok Governorate. It plays a key role in the University’s mission to advance animal health, food safety, and public health across the region.

The College offers Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral programs. Through its comprehensive curriculum, students gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in treating animals and supporting the local agricultural economy.

Empowering Graduates for a Promising Future

This year’s graduates will be stepping into careers in veterinary clinics, pharmaceutical companies, research centers, and government agencies. Many are ambitious about continuing their studies in advanced veterinary sciences, both locally and internationally.

With Kurdistan’s expanding need for veterinary expertise, CVM graduates are expected to play a leading role in safeguarding both animal and human health in the years to come.

This theme captured the essence of the College’s role in linking veterinary science with community service.
