After he received a fully sponsored invitation letter from THM University in Giessen, Germany, Dr. Sabah Wais, Vice President for Scientific Affairs and Scientific Research participated in a teaching course for Master students at the THM German University. The course he gave was in laser physics at the Biomedical Engineering Department.

This collaboration was the outcome of a successful partnership between Giessen University and the University of Duhok, during the last few years. The main goal of this partnership between the two universities is to start a new department of Biomedical Technology at the Faculty of Applied Sciences at our university, which is sponsored by the German organization DAAD.

The successful course given by Dr. Sabah Wais motivated THM University to ask him to give another course in his specialty, Medical Laser Application to their MSc students in the near future. This is a great achievement for the University of Duhok, to have its academic staff participate in teaching courses at a well-known university in Germany.
