In a special festive event attended by Dr. Dawood Sulaiman Atrushi, the President of the University of Duhok and his two Vice-Presidents, Dr. Lokman Hadi Hassan, Vice-President for Scientific Affairs and Dr. Mevan Arif Abdulrahman, Vice President for Students Affair, Dr. Jihan Abdulaziz Ahmad was appointed a manager of the Central Library in the University of Duhok.

Dr. Atrushi pointed to the importance of the Central Library and its improvement “the UoD supports and enhances the modernization of the Central Library and for that aim a special committee has been formed for its development and the introduction of modern library management styles.” Dr. Atrushi acknowledged the leading role of Dr. Salih Mohammed Hassan who has been managing the library faithfully and professionally. 

Dr. Salih, former manager of the Central Library, expressed his willingness to support the new manager: “Change indicates healthy management. I have given the post all I had in the past and we are ready to help the new management in every possible way.”

In a similar manner, the UoD president showed his utmost support for the new management and the development of the Central Library confirming that the outcomes of the committee working on the enhancement of the Library and plans and strategies of the new manager will assist in improving and modernizing the Central Library.  It is important to mention that the UoD has set a new plan of action for the Central Library and is working very hard to innovate and systemize the resources and books.
