China Presents Fully Funded Master’s and PhD Scholarships for Applicants from the Kurdistan Region
UOD, April 8, 2026, University Press Office (UNPO) | The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research - KRG announces the availability of Master’s and PhD scholarships offered by the People's Republic of China under the MOFCOM–CSC programs.
These scholarships are open to eligible applicants from the Kurdistan Region, including academic and administrative staff members and graduates, aiming to support international academic mobility, advanced research skills, and capacity development in alignment with higher education priorities.

Requirements – People’s Republic of China
- Applicant must be an Iraqi citizen and resident of the Kurdistan Region
- Under 45 years old and in good health
- Valid passport (minimum 6 months)
- English proficiency (TOEFL or IELTS)
- Verified academic certificates and transcripts
- Police clearance and health certificate (officially authenticated)
- Two recommendation letters
- CV and personal statement
Requirements – KRG Ministry of Higher Education
Master’s Applicants:
- Bachelor’s GPA not less than 65%
- Minimum two years of service for KRG employees
- Field of study must match previous degree
PhD Applicants:
- Master’s GPA not less than 70%
- Minimum two years of service (5 years for HCDP graduates)
- Field continuity required (Master’s to PhD)
Note: Successful employees will be granted study leave with basic salary and fixed allowances.
