Held at the prestigious Students Center on campus, the event attracted an impressive audience.

Distinguished guests, including Dr. Dawood Atroshi, the esteemed president of the University of Duhok, and Mr. Majid Sayed Salih, the Deputy Governor, graced the occasion with their presence. The event also witnessed the attendance of prominent directors from both the private and public sectors, as well as representatives from international non-governmental organizations. The University of Duhok's faculty members and students also showed great support and enthusiasm.

Engineering Design Day is an annual tradition at the College of Engineering, specifically tailored for fourth-year undergraduate students. This grand exhibition serves as a vital platform for students to present their innovative projects to esteemed companies, non-governmental organizations, and various stakeholders. The event facilitates constructive dialogues on design-related initiatives occurring at different levels within the community, shedding light on the pivotal role of engineering in advancing both private and public sectors.

This year's 10th Annual Engineering Design Day witnessed an impressive display of collaborative and individual efforts. Students from various engineering departments participated, showcasing their extraordinary projects. In the field of Architectural Engineering, 25 final-year students presented their project designs individually. The Electrical Engineering department showcased 10 captivating design projects, crafted by 35 students in 10 groups. Meanwhile, Mechanical Engineering, consisting of 23 fourth-year students, showcased six exceptional design projects. Biomedical Engineering students, in their final year of study, astounded the audience with six joint projects. The Civil Engineering Department, boasting 95 fourth-year students, divided into 18 groups to present their graduation design projects. Additionally, Water Resources Engineering students impressed with 13 projects, collaboratively developed by 65 students in 13 groups. Lastly, Surveying Engineering students presented eight outstanding projects, organized into eight groups.

In addition to the main projects, there were also captivating mini projects presented by second-year students. Each group, consisting of four students, showcased their diverse engineering design creations.

Parallel to the Engineering Design Day, the 5th Annual Popsicle Stick Bridge Competition was held in the main hall of the Students Center. Second-year students from the Civil Engineering Department actively participated in this exciting event. Divided into 20 groups, a total of 125 students demonstrated their teamwork and ingenuity. The organizing committee evaluated the bridges based on three criteria: efficiency load, aesthetics, and meeting expectations. At the culmination of the event, one group emerged victorious, securing the esteemed title.

Towards the conclusion of the Design Day Exhibition, one outstanding design project from each engineering department was recognized as the best project. The organizing committee duly honored all the deserving students who displayed exceptional talent and innovation.

The University of Duhok's Engineering Design Day proved to be an inspiring and impactful event, fostering creativity, collaboration, and engineering excellence.
