In order to benefit from the recent innovations and scientific developments in dentistry field, the College of Dentistry at the University of Duhok held the Recent Innovations in Dentistry Symposium on August 26, 2024, at the UOD’s Convention Center, in the presence of the UOD’s President, Dr. Dawood Sulaiman Atrushi, the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Dr. Saeed Ali, and a number of governmental and parties’ officials as well as teachers and students.

The symposium began with welcome remarks. During the symposium the Dean of the College of Dentistry, Dr. Saeed Ali, announced that there will be many events in the future all of enhancing the knowledge of dentistry in the college and the region.

That part was followed by insightful presentations from distinguished speakers. Dr. Bangen Mohammed Karam discussed the concept of immediate loading on dental implants, while Dr. Ahmad Abdulhamed Abdulmajed presented on the current trends in managing temporomandibular disorders. Dr. Khaled Ali Saeed provided valuable insights into the factors affecting smile design, and Dr. Shakar S. Hassan concluded the presentations with a session on Sinergia presentation.

The event which was organized cooperatively with Higen Company concluded with closing remarks, certificate distribution on the participants, and a group photo.

This symposium was an excellent opportunity for professionals to exchange knowledge and ideas, reflecting the University of Duhok's commitment to advancing dental education and research.
