Welcome to the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs (VPST)

The Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs (VPST) is the cornerstone of student life at the University of Duhok. Our mission is to ensure that every student—whether undergraduate or graduate—has access to the resources, support, and opportunities needed to thrive academically, personally, and professionally.

Our Vision

Guided by UOD’s Strategic Plan 2023-2038 the VPST Office is a driving force behind initiatives that shape a holistic and student-centered university experience, fostering academic excellence, personal growth, and meaningful community engagement.

Our key role at UOD

The VPST Office oversees a wide range of student-focused services and programs, addressing both academic and non-academic aspects of university life. We work collaboratively with other university departments to enhance the student experience, build a sense of belonging, and prepare students for success beyond graduation. Our key responsibilities include:

  • Admissions and Enrollment:
    Managing the admissions process and ensuring a seamless transition for new students into university life.
  • Student Housing:
    Providing safe, comfortable, and affordable housing options that promote a sense of community and support academic success.
  • Student ID Cards and Records:
    Issuing ID cards and maintaining accurate student data to facilitate smooth administrative processes.
  • Graduation Ceremonies:
    Organizing memorable graduation events that celebrate students’ achievements and milestones.
  • Student Career Services:
    Operating the Student Career Center to assist students in exploring career paths, securing internships, and preparing for the workforce. Coordinating university internship programs to provide hands-on experiences in professional environments.
  • Student Data and Information Management:
    Ensuring the accuracy and security of student information while providing insights to improve services and student outcomes. Ensuring secure and efficient management of student information through the Directorate of Registration.
  • Alumni and Student Engagement:
    Managing alumni relations and creating opportunities for alumni to stay connected with UOD. Supporting student activities, including sports, leadership programs, and community service.
  • Examination and Certification Management:
    Overseeing examination committees at the college level. Managing all types of student certificates (bachelor’s, MSc, PhD) and providing supporting letters for students and alumni.
  • Annual Student Graduation Ceremony
    The VPST Office is also responsible for organizing the Annual Student Graduation Ceremony, a signature event celebrating the achievements of UOD’s graduating class. This highly anticipated occasion reflects the university’s dedication to student success and marks the culmination of years of hard work and academic excellence.
  • Green and Walkable Campus Initiative:
    The Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs (VPST) takes a proactive leadership role in spearheading the Green and Walkable Campus Initiative, a cornerstone of the university's commitment to sustainability and student well-being. This initiative aligns with UOD’s Strategic Plan 2023–2038, emphasizing the importance of creating an eco-friendly, accessible, and vibrant academic environment that supports both learning and living.
