Internship and Job Search

Ready to gain real-world experience? The Career Development Center (CDC) at the University of Duhok provides guidance, resources, and support to help you find internships and jobs that align with your career goals.

5 Steps to Prepare for Your Internship or Job Search

  1. Meet with a Career Counselor
    - Talk with CDC professionals for coaching, advice, and guidance.
    - Appointments: 30-minute sessions — schedule by calling +964 750 486 7875 or emailing [email protected].
    - Drop-in Hours: 15-minute meetings — available during Fall and Spring semesters (subject to change).
  2. Explore Opportunities
Search current job and internship postings shared by the CDC, employers, and partner organizations. Keep your CV updated each semester to stay ready for new opportunities.
  3. Conduct Informational Interviews
Speak with professionals, faculty, mentors, alumni, or family to learn about careers, industries, and roles. These conversations help you understand the realities of different career paths.
  4. Develop Skills
Participate in leadership, volunteer, and professional development activities on and off campus to build skills that employers value.
  5. Prepare Your Materials
Create or update your CV, cover letter, and professional online profiles (e.g., LinkedIn). Document accomplishments and reflect on how each experience shapes your career goals.
