University of Duhok’s Third Mission and Social Impact Symposium, 2024

The University of Duhok (UoD) was established in 1992 as the first university in Duhok governorate. As its first mission, UoD has since graduated thousands of students both at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Research is the second important mission of UoD. Recognizing the critical responsibility and seeking to strengthen community role and impact, UoD is organizing its second symposium (University of Duhok’s Third Mission and Social Impact Symposium, 2024). This symposium will introduce UoD’s vision to our stakeholders from public and private sectors as well as local government and community.

The main aims of this symposium are:

◉ Strengthen the dialogue and interaction among university, industry and society.

◉ Facilitate internship opportunities for our students.

◉ Get feedback from employers about the skills and competences of our graduates to be used in the process of curriculum development.

◉ Urge employers to respond to surveys done by leading international university ranking lists like Times Higher Education (THE) and QS rankings. This will help UoD to improve its services and thus get better ranking in these listings.
