Beijing-China, September 3, 2026, University Press Office (UNPO) | Sherwan Salih Ramadhan, a Master’s student in the Department of Educational Counseling at the College of Basic Education, University of Duhok (UOD), represented the University at the international Seminar of Global Green Sustainable Development, held in China from 6–19 August 2026.

The international training programme was organized by the National Academy of Forestry and Grassland Administration within the framework of global efforts to address climate change, environmental challenges, and sustainable development, bringing together participants from different countries to exchange knowledge and experiences on green and sustainable development.

Sherwan Salih Banani was officially selected to participate through the Government of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Directorate of Non-Governmental Organizations (DNGO). His participation provided an opportunity to engage in academic and professional discussions and gain insights into approaches to environmental management and sustainable development.

During the programme, the UOD Master’s student had the opportunity to learn about China’s experiences and practices in sustainable development and environmental management, while exchanging perspectives with international participants and specialists in the field. The programme also provided a platform for developing international academic and professional connections.

The knowledge and experience gained through the programme are expected to contribute to Sherwan’s academic development and support the sharing of knowledge related to environmental sustainability and sustainable development within the University and the wider community.

The participation reflects the University of Duhok’s commitment to international academic engagement, student capacity development, and sustainability, supporting its strategic direction of preparing capable graduates who can contribute to addressing emerging environmental and developmental challenges in the Kurdistan Region and beyond.
