The College of Law at the University of Duhok (UOD) proudly announces that its team has achieved first place in the 2025 Iraqi National Moot Court Competition, where the finale held in Baghdad. The UOD team demonstrated outstanding legal reasoning, advocacy, and teamwork, securing victory in the final round against Al-Amarah University College on Thursday, October 16, 2025.

Under the supervision of Dr. Ary Arif AbdulAziz, the team—consisting of Mohammed AbdulAziz, Mohammed AlaAddeen, and Ahmed Sardar—excelled throughout multiple rounds of competition. The event brought together 64 teams from 28 universities across Iraq, making this achievement a remarkable national milestone for the University of Duhok.

The UOD team, known as “Guardians of Justice” (فريق حراس العدالة), advanced through successive rounds, held online, as follows:

• Round of 64: vs. Al-Huja Al-Qati’a Team – Al-Hadi University (Oct 1)
  
  
• Round of 64: vs. Absolute Right Team – Imam Al-Kadhim University (Oct 2)
  
  
• Round of 16: vs. Elite of Advocacy Team – Imam Al-Kadhim University (Oct 5)
  
  
• Round of 16: vs. Better Call Justice Team – University of Basrah (Oct 6)
  
  
• Quarterfinals: vs. Al-Nahrain Jurists Team – Al-Nahrain University (Oct 7)
  
  
• Quarterfinals: vs. Due Legal Team – University of Baghdad (Oct 8)
  
  
• Semifinals: vs. Lawyer Tariq Harb Team – Al-Emmara University College (Oct 9)
  
  
• Semifinals: vs. Pioneers of Justice Team – University of Basrah (Oct 10)
  
  

On this proud occasion, Dr. Aveen Khalid Abdulrahman, Dean of the College of Law, extended heartfelt congratulations to the winning team, expressing appreciation on behalf of the college’s academic and administrative staff:
