📍UOD | May, 2025 – University Press Office (UNPO) | As part of its continued commitment to advancing medical sciences and professional training, the College of Dentistry at the University of Duhok (UOD) successfully hosted a one-day specialized workshop titled “Comprehensive approaches in gummy smile treatment”, featuring a focused panel discussion.

The session brought together distinguished experts and faculty members, including:

🎓 Workshop Highlights:

• In-depth analysis of gummy smile etiology, including vertical maxillary excess, short upper lip, altered passive eruption, and dento-alveolar extrusion.
   
• State-of-the-art insights into prosthetic design: ideal crown proportions, gingival architecture, and esthetic material choices.
   
• Critical examination of smile line dynamics, margin placement, and the application of Digital Smile Design (DSD) tools.
   

This workshop not only addressed the technical challenges in esthetic dentistry but also underscored the role of multidisciplinary planning in dental implantology. Aligned with UOD’s Strategic Plan for Health and Scientific Excellence, the event promoted academic leadership and enriched student and practitioner training in evidence-based practices.
