The College of Languages at the University of Duhok is pleased to announce the second edition of its literary initiative, “Symphony of Words 2” — a poetic celebration that invites students from all universities in Duhok Governorate to participate in an enriching cultural experience.

This inter-university poetry competition aims to showcase young literary talent, foster creativity, and celebrate the power of language and national identity through verse.

📚 About the Event

“Symphony of Words 2” offers a stage for students to share their original poetry, express personal and national themes, and engage in a creative dialogue with peers and faculty in a spirit of cultural unity.

This event is part of the College’s broader commitment to promoting literature, language, and artistic expression as key pillars of academic and societal development.

📌 Participation Guidelines

• Open to all students from universities within Duhok Governorate.
• Participants must be currently enrolled and actively attending classes.
• Poems must be original compositions, preferably with national or cultural themes.
• A printed copy of the poem must be submitted by April 10, 2025 to the College of Languages.
• A professional jury composed of faculty members and literary experts will evaluate the recitations.
• Selected participants will perform their poems on April 17, 2025, during the official event.

🏆 Recognition & Awards

Three top participants will be recognized and awarded for excellence in poetry, creativity, and performance.
