Dr. James Haido visits the University of Glasgow under the ERASMUS+ ICM Program

Dr James H. Haido, assistant professor at the College of Engineering, University of Duhok visited the James Watt School of Engineering at University of Glasgow on the 6th of August, 2019 under the ERASMUS+ICM Project which is recently signed between Uiversity of Duhok and Glasgow University in Scotland-UK.

The main goal of this program is to create sustainable research collaboration between the University of Duhok visitor and host professors at University of Glasgow. Accordingly, Dr. James met with Dr Lukasz Kaczmarczyk and Dr Peter Grassl, who are members of Glasgow Computational Engineering Centre (GCEC), to establish plans for performing future research study. They agreed to work on a research entitled “Homogenization of Hybrid Concrete Members” which deals with modeling of hybrid concrete using cohesive elements. In addition, Dr. James discussed with Dr. Lukasz to work on a research grant application and possibility of hosting future split-site PhD students of structural engineering at Glasgow University and the University of Duhok.
It is worth mentioning that eight academic staff in different colleges of University of Duhok were awarded these scholarships to visit Glasgow University.
