Prime Minister Masrour Barzani Joins UoD’s 31st Graduation Ceremony, Inspiring a New Generation to Serve Kurdistan
October 11, 2026 | University Press Office (UNPO) — In the presence of His Excellency Mr. Masrour Barzani, Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, the University of Duhok (UoD) celebrated the graduation of its 31st class at Duhok Sports Stadium, honoring more than 3,000 graduates and highlighting the University’s contribution to higher education and human-capital development.
In his address, Prime Minister Mr. Masrour Barzani congratulated the graduates and encouraged them to apply their knowledge and skills in serving the Kurdistan Region and contributing to its continued development. His presence underscored the importance of higher education in preparing capable graduates to help shape the Region’s future.
Dr. Dawood Sulaiman Atrushi, President of UoD, also congratulated the graduates and their families, emphasizing the University’s role in preparing a knowledgeable generation. He highlighted UoD’s ongoing reforms, the growing role of artificial intelligence in academia, and its commitment to community service and institutional development.
The ceremony brought together government officials, academics, faculty members, graduates, and their families. The graduating class represents 19 colleges and one institute, with graduates from 95 scientific departments, reflecting UoD’s continued commitment to academic excellence and the development of skilled graduates.
The ceremony aligns with the University of Duhok’s Strategic Plan, particularly its priorities of quality education, human-capital development, innovation, and community engagement.
