First Kurdish Doctor from UOD Honored with Prestigious BAU Award in UAE

A Historic Achievement

Dr. Khalaf Gargary, pediatrician from the College of Medicine at the UOD, has become the first Kurdish doctor to receive the prestigious BAU Award at the Second BAU Award and Iraqi Medical Conference in the UAE. The event, under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, took place in Dubai from January 24 to 25, 2025. The BAU Award aligns with the UAE's vision of world-class healthcare and innovation.

Dr. Gargary, was honored with ‘The Excellence Award for Community Health Support’ for his contributions to advancing healthcare and improving community access. His commitment to medical research and global healthcare development earned him this recognition.
