UOD Students Complete Classroom Management Course with U.S. Consulate Support

On January 19, 2025, fourth-year students from the Department of English at the College of Basic Education, University of Duhok (UOD), celebrated the completion of the Classroom Management Skills course. The three-month online course, which took place at the American Corner of the UOD, and offered as a scholarship by the U.S. Consulate in Erbil in collaboration with the University of Nevada, aimed to enhance students' teaching and classroom management abilities.

 

Course Overview and Collaboration

 

Dr. Vanessa Mari from the University of Nevada delivered the course, providing valuable insights and practical knowledge to the students. The course was designed to equip future educators with essential skills for effectively managing classrooms and fostering positive learning environments.

Certificate Ceremony and U.S. Consulate Representation

The Certificate Ceremony, held on January 19, 2025, at the American Corner at the UOD, marked the successful completion of the course. Dr. Nabaz Ibrahim, the UOD Vice President of Students Affairs, attended the ceremony and highlighted the various courses UOD centers provide in order to empower students and prepare them for future careers. The ceremony took place in attendance of:

 

  • Dr. Nazar Ameen, Director of International Relations
  • Dr. Zirak Hakari, Director of the American Corner
  • Mrs. Vivian Mekhael Polis, Course’s Coordinator
  • Mr. Reving Mizory, Education Adviser at the U.S. Consulate-General in Erbil. He recognized the students' achievements and reaffirmed the importance of such educational collaborations.
