AMAD AYAD MOHAMMED
Deputy Director
Mr. Amad Ayad Mohammed serves as the Deputy Director of the International Relations Office at the University of Duhok (UoD), where he plays a key role in fostering international partnerships, managing academic cooperation programs, and supporting the University's strategic internationalization efforts.
He graduated from the Department of English Language at the College of Arts, University of Duhok, in the academic year 2005–2006. In 2011, he earned a Master's degree in International Relations and European Studies (Euroculture) from the University of Deusto, Spain, through the European international Erasmus program.
In addition to his administrative responsibilities, Mr. Mohammed is an academic staff member at the University of Duhok. From 2010 to 2012, he served as Director of the University's Website, contributing significantly to the development, management, and enhancement of the University's digital presence and communication platforms.
Throughout his career, Mr. Mohammed has been actively involved in international academic cooperation, mobility programs, and capacity-building initiatives. He participated in academic exchange visits to the University of Deusto, Spain, in 2012 and the University of Warsaw, Poland, in 2016 through the Erasmus Mundus SALAM Program. He has also served as a coordinator and project co-manager for several EU, Erasmus+ initiatives, including the RESCUE, MediTec, OPATEL, RISE. Transition and MOVE projects, facilitating collaboration between international partner institutions and overseeing project implementation activities.
His extensive experience includes coordinating and managing international projects funded by organizations such as the European Union, British Council, DAAD, and the U.S. Department of State. He has contributed to the successful implementation of projects including DELPHE and British Council initiatives, DAAD-funded programs, the Linkages Program with Michigan State University, Peacebuilding projects with New York University, NGO Capacity Building programs with Seton Hall University, and LASER Buy-ln: Cultural Restoration Program for Northern lraq with cooperation of Notre Dame University, US.
As part of his responsibilities in international project management, Mr. Mohammed has developed substantial expertise in project planning, financial management, budget monitoring, grant administration, reporting, procurement coordination, and compliance with donor regulations and institutional requirements. He has worked closely with international partners to ensure the effective utilization of project resources, the timely achievement of project objectives, and the successful delivery of project outcomes.
A certified Student Adviser, Mr. Mohammed, participated in the prestigious International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) in Washington, D.C., in 2015. He has also attended numerous professional development workshops and training programs focused on leadership, volunteerism, civic engagement, community development, and higher education internationalization.
Demonstrating a strong commitment to social responsibility and community service, he volunteered in support of refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Duhok and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. He also served as Coordinator of the University of Duhok Annual Job Fair in 2014 and 2015, helping connect students and graduates with employment and professional development opportunities.
Mr. Mohammed possesses extensive experience in project coordination, logistics, event management, and stakeholder engagement. He has played a leading role in organizing numerous international conferences, workshops, training programs, academic events, and institutional partnerships, contributing significantly to the University of Duhok's international profile and global engagement efforts.
