  • BSc in Biology, Biology Department, University of Duhok (2011)
  • MSc in Molecular Microbiology, Biology Department, University of Duhok (2020)

My teaching experience and related professional background can be summarized as follows:

  1. I taught Molecular Biology and Practical Molecular Biology to third-year undergraduate biology students from September 2020 to December 2020. My instruction focused on helping students understand molecular mechanisms in cells and guiding them through essential laboratory techniques used in molecular research.
  2. During my teaching period, I emphasized clear explanations, hands-on practice, and structured demonstrations. My goal was to help students connect theoretical concepts with experimental procedures, strengthening both their scientific understanding and technical confidence.
  3. After completing my teaching responsibilities, I moved to the Laboratories Department at the General Hospital in Pirmam/Erbil, where I have been working since 2021. This professional laboratory role continues to reinforce my teaching background by grounding molecular biology concepts in real diagnostic and clinical applications, giving me a practical perspective that supports future instruction or academic involvement as transfer ( ( تەنسیب

Research

  1. Phenotypic and molecular detection of Acinetobacter baumannii isolated from patients in Duhok City, Iraq. ZH Abdullah, NS Merza. Science Journal of University of Zakho 7 (4), 132-137.
  2. Molecular detection of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus harboring beta- lactamase resistance genes isolated from different sources of infections. AH Raziq, AM Sulaiman, NS Merza, ZH Abdullah. Zanco Journal of Medical Sciences (Zanco J Med Sci) 21 (3), 1889-1896.

My research interests can be summarized as follows:

  1. I am interested in molecular microbiology, particularly in the molecular pathways that guide microbial growth, adaptation, and interactions within their environments.
  2. I explore biotechnological approaches that use microorganisms as tools for innovation, including metabolic engineering and the development of microbe-based solutions for industrial and environmental challenges.
  3. I also focus on genetics, studying gene regulation, genetic variation, and genome organization in microbial systems. My aim is to link genetic mechanisms with practical applications that advance microbial biotechnology.
