UOD Hosts a KII Seminar on Technology Advancements by KRG
Shedding light on the advancements in technology performed by the nineth Kurdistan Region Government’s cabinet, and under the supervision of the University of Duhok’s President, Dr. Dawood Sulaiman Atrushi, Kurdistan Innovation Institute KII held a seminar at the Students Center of the UOD, on October 15, 2024. This activity was attended by KII team, university staff members and students, especially by Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering Departments.
Dr. Azad Najar, co-CEO of KII and a medical inventor with nearly 35 patents, delivered a seminar outlining KII's mission to advance technology and science in Kurdistan. He emphasized the KRG's efforts to enhance regional services and compete with developed nations. Under the leadership of KR Prime Minister, and KII Board Chairman, Mr. Masrour Barzani, it has launched 28 projects in its first year, including hydropower and smart greenhouses.
KII collaborates with academic institutions to improve daily life through science and encourages innovation among youth via its website; where people can express ideas in order to be adopted by KII. The seminar, held at UOD, ended with an engaging discussion between Dr. Najar and students. KII aims to support innovators through training, funding, and resources for entrepreneurship and business management.
