Empowering Future Pharmacists and Advancing Public Health in Kurdistan

UOD, July 30, 2025, University Press Office (UNPO) | In alignment with the University of Duhok’s strategic goals in public health and academic-community engagement, on July 28, 2025, the College of Pharmacy, in collaboration with the Kurdistan Pharmacy Students’ Association (KPSA), organized a successful scientific symposium titled “Hepatitis B: Toward Increasing Community Awareness” to mark World Hepatitis Day 2025.

Leadership and Vision

The event was attended by UOD President Dr. Dawood Sulaiman Atrushi, College Dean Dr. Suzan Omer Rasool, and a group of prominent medical experts. Their presence reflected the University’s growing role in addressing regional health issues through academic platforms and interdisciplinary collaboration.

The symposium included presentations by faculty and professionals on a range of topics:

🔹 Pharmacists’ role in HBV management – Dr. Manhal A. Abdulkader
🔹 Duhok Governorate public health programs – Dr. Sagvan Hassan Ali
🔹 Regional graduation research on HBV seropositivity – Pharmacy student Dilnaz Ayub Abdi

Opening remarks were delivered by KPSA, setting the tone for a day dedicated to awareness, education, and preventive action.
