From Kickoff to Crown: College of Physical Education Wins UOD Volleyball Championship
UOD, February 19, 2026, University Press Office (UNPO) | The University of Duhok (UOD) has successfully concluded its 2026 University Volleyball Championship, reaffirming its commitment to fostering an active campus environment and promoting student well-being through structured sports programs.
The tournament, organized by the Directorate of University Sports as part of its annual activity plan, originally launched on 9 February 2026 with the participation of 12 college teams. Since its inauguration, the championship has served as a platform to enhance teamwork, competitive spirit, and inter-college collaboration across the university.
The competition culminated on 17 February 2026 with a final match between the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences and the College of Agricultural Engineering Sciences. In a closely contested and high-energy game, the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences secured the title after winning three sets to two, demonstrating strong tactical performance and athletic discipline.
The closing match was attended by university leadership, deans, academic staff, and students, reflecting the growing importance of sports activities within UOD’s broader strategy to support student development beyond the classroom.
