UOD Announces "Symphony of Words 3" Poetry Competition for All University Students in Duhok Governorate

The College of Languages at the University of Duhok announces the third edition of its student poetry competition, “Symphony of Words 3,” reaffirming its commitment to fostering creativity, linguistic expression, and cultural engagement among university students.

The event will take place on Thursday, April 2, 2026, at the Peshmerga Hall, Student Center on campus. The competition supports the university’s strategic vision of strengthening student engagement, cultural dialogue, and communication skills alongside academic excellence.

Participation Guidelines:

  • Students from all universities within the Duhok Governorate are eligible to participate.
  • The participant must currently be an enrolled university student.
  • The poem submitted for the competition must be the student's original creation and composition.
  • Participants must submit a copy of their poem to the College of Languages at the University of Duhok between the publication date of this announcement and March 25.
  • It is preferred that the poem focuses on a nationalistic/patriotic theme.
  • The competition will take the form of a live poetry recital attended by students and faculty, and will be overseen by a specialized literary committee at the Peshmerga Hall, Student Center, University of Duhok.
  • Participants must be present in person on the designated event day to recite their poem.
  • The top three winners, as selected by the expert committee, will be awarded prizes.
