Kurdish Youth Summer Program: Reconnect, Rediscover, Reimagine

May 28, 2025, University Press Office (UNPO) | The University of Duhok (UOD) is proud to announce the launch of the Kurdish Youth Summer Program, a vibrant and meaningful initiative designed to bring together Kurdish youth from the diaspora for a two-week cultural, educational, and social experience in their ancestral homeland.

Scheduled from August 3 to 17, 2025, this unique program aims to strengthen cultural identity, build global community ties, and empower young Kurds to become future leaders and ambassadors of Kurdish heritage.

🌍 About the Program

The Kurdish Youth Summer Program offers an exceptional opportunity for Kurdish youth living abroad to:

• Reconnect with their cultural and linguistic roots
   
• Explore the rich history, traditions, and natural beauty of Kurdistan
   
• Build lifelong friendships with peers from around the world
   
• Participate in guided visits, workshops, and community activities
   
• Enhance their understanding of Kurdish civic, academic, and cultural life

• Free Registration
   
• Full accommodation at the UOD’s student Dormitories and daily meals during the program
   
• Cultural, historical, and scenic trips to key sites across the Kurdistan Region
   

📌 Note: International flight tickets to and from Kurdistan are not included and must be arranged independently by participants.

🧑‍🎓 Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the UOD Kurdish Youth Summer Program, applicants must:

• Be of Kurdish origin, aged 17 to 23
   
• Have at least one parent of Kurdish descent
   
• Demonstrate a genuine passion for Kurdish culture, identity, and civic engagement
