Under the supervision of the deanery office of the College of Pharmacy at the University of Duhok, the 5th annual reading book session under the title of “Reading a book and pass it by” has been held in our college, on Tuesday, March 07, 2023.
The session was enlightened and fruitful with the presence of the respected dean, “Dr. Suzan Omer Rasool”, vice dean, “Mrs. Wasan Ghazi Abdal”, the HoDs, and a number of lecturers of the college. It is worth mentioning that this is a continuous project for 2nd-grade students and supervised by lecturer “Dr. Burhan Abdullah Zaman”.
Background and Objective of the Project:
In this project the students divided into small groups (not less than 4 and not more than 6 students per group), and choose a book (which should be any book other than the medical books) at the beginning of the 2nd semester. While they will complete reading their books in maximum 2 months, they will summarize the book and prepare a short report of books. Then, the students present their summary report in a humble reading session and express their personal and social influence by their books. At the end the books and the reports presented to the “24 Open Library” in our college which has been found by the lecturer “Dr. Burhan Abdullah Zaman” in February 20, 2019.
The main aim of this project is to make our students more familiar with reading books, raise their general knowledge, and graduate as a high-educated, bright-mind pharmacist to assist their community better.
