World Town Planning Day - Heritage Conservation in Alqoush Town

As a part of the ongoing efforts by the College of Engineering to incorporate Project Based Learning (PjBL) in the learning process, the final year students at the Department of Surveying Engineering completed 8 projects in the preservation of cultural heritage in Alqosh village through documenting the historical buildings by capturing 3D models of the buildings using the LiDAR technology and camera photography with image stabilization using DJI Osmo.

Under the supervision Dr. Shireen Younis Ismael and Asst. Prof. Dr. Farsat Heeto and with the cooperation of the Department's staff, an exhibition of these projects was held on the 8th of November, 2022 as a celebration of the World Town Planning Day under the theme "Think Global, Plan Local".

The projects' focused on different aspects of planning including:
