Today 17th of October 2023, the US Consul General, Mark Straw arrived in Duhok from Erbil to learn more about joint projects and programs between the University of Duhok and the United States of America and strengthen cooperation and coordination, and he was welcomed by Dr. Dawood Sulaiman Atrushi, President of the UOD.

In a meeting at the American Corner in University of Duhok, in the presence of a team from the US General Consulate in Erbil, as well as staff of the Office of International Relations at the University of Duhok, The President of the UOD warmly welcomed the guest delegation and introduced them to the work and projects of the UOD and discussed the extensive international relations of the University, that the UOD is known as a leader in this field in the region. Also, Dr. Rand Hamoudi, the Director of the International Relations Office at the UOD, talked about a number of projects of the University with the United States, which have been very successful to some extent.

For his part, the US Consul General praised the successful projects of University of Duhok and said that the American Corner in the UOD is actively working and has recorded a successful experience, and congratulated to its director M. Mahmoud Chachan Jumaa for the activities carried out in the framework of this Corner.

Afterwards, the US General Consulate delegation held a meeting with a number of volunteers working in the framework of the US Corner and congratulated them for their work and services, as well as presented them with certificates of appreciation.
