Sustainable Development through Local Government Program in Iraq - A seminar by Ms. Rawshan Atrooshi
On April 2nd, 2024, the College of City and Regional Planning hosted an interesting seminar on "Sustainable Development through Local Government Program in Iraq 2022-2026 - An update". A seminar was presented by Ms. Rawshan Atrooshi, Iraq country director at VNG International.
During the seminar, Ms. Rawshan Atrooshi introduced VNG International organization and delved into VNG's mission and areas of expertise. Ms. Rawshan also shed light on VNG's ongoing projects in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq (KRI), highlighted challenges in local administration, and discussed initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce bureaucracy. Following the seminar, an open discussion covered various topics, including challenges in implementing changes, decentralization efforts, strategies for crisis management, and capacity-building initiatives. Ms. Rawshan concluded by mentioning upcoming conferences to engage stakeholders and address governance issues.
