The College of Engineering at the University of Duhok, in cooperation with the American University in Kurdistan, held a workshop on the Assessment and Evaluation of Engineering Courses and Student Learning Outcomes on June 24, 2024, at the Seminar Hall of the College of Engineering.

This workshop followed extensive efforts by the staff of Engineering College departments such as Electrical and Computer Engineering, Architecture Engineering, and Civil Engineering to develop self-assessment reports. This marks the initial step towards accreditation or the development of engineering study programs.

This initiative is part of a project supervised by Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Mr. Masrour Barzani. Dr. Honar Issa, a member of the Board of Accreditation and Program Development at both the Ministries of Education and Higher Education and Scientific Research, participated in this workshop. So far, the universities of Duhok, Salahaddin, and Sulaimani have been selected as pilots for this project.

It is worth mentioning that the College of Engineering aims to obtain accreditation for its engineering study programs from the Iraqi Council for Engineering Program Development.
