Peaceful Living through Pictures
May 1, 2021, 8:34 p.m.

A group of the project participants, with assistance of four students from the Fine Arts Department and students from other UoD Departments, have drawn four paintings that express the importance of social cohesion, encouraging bonds of friendship among students, and non-discrimination between religions, minorities and social groups. The paintings  are drawn on the walls of three departments at UoD: Geography, Sociology, and Peace and Human Rights Studies. The aim of this initiative is to encourage students to live in peace without discrimination be it from ethnic or religious discrimination.

The curtain has been raised from the paintings in a ceremony organized on 28 March 2021. Worth mentioning that these drawing these paintings is one of “Building Youth Capacity to Engage Meaningfully in Social Cohesion Initiatives” project, supported by the Mennonite Central Committee (MCC)
