Community Assessment, Engagement and Planning

CPCRS has organized a 3 hours seminar on “Community Assessment, Engagement and Planning” on 27 December 2018. Of total of 93 local actors from Misureek attended the seminar , 60 were males, 33 females, 57 from host community of  Misureek, 30 from IDPs and 6 from refugees. The seminar has been facilitated by Dr. Mamoun Abdulsamad, who addressed several topics of Community Assessment (its importance, who should do it? theory of change, methods of community assessment, positives sides of community assessment, and challenges facing community assessment). The seminar’s content also covered the topic of community engagement: meaning, importance, principles, requirements of community engagement, factors affecting community engagement, obstacles facing community engagement, and types of community engagement). The last subject that presented in this seminar was the stages and principles of “community planning”. At the end of the seminar, there was a Q&A session.

The seminar  has been hosted by Goal Global at Jiyan Hotel in Duhok, as one of its joint activities with CPCRS within  the project “Area Based Recovery Approach Project in Misureek”, supported by UNDP’s Iraq Crisis Response and Resilience Programme (ICRRP) with funding from the Government of Japan.
